A SPECIALIST business consultancy working in the high-tech industry has moved into new premises following a sustained expansion over the past three years.
Channel Dynamics, which helps hardware and software companies with partnering and marketing strategies, officially opened its new offices in Windsor End, Beaconsfield Old Town, last Wednesday.
The company, which now has a staff of ten, was founded in 1993 by directors Tim Barnsley, who had worked for ICL and Honeywell, and Richard Griffith, who met through a mutual friend.
They had their first office in Tim's aunt's health food shop in Wexham, Slough, for 18 months and then moved to offices in Priory Road, High Wycombe. Mike Barradell-Smith joined as the third director in 1998.
An early client was Sun Microsystems - Shanker Trivedi, MD of Sun Microsystems was guest speaker at the opening - and to date the company has helped more than 40 companies including Compaq, Dell, Intel, IBM and Unisys.
Channel Dynamics has not only developed its own methodology, but also offers market development models provided through its formal affiliation with Geoffrey Moore's Chasm consulting group in California.
Tim said: 'I think the importance of strategy consulting is being better recognised today.
'Until recently companies were not big enough, strong enough and confident enough to spend money on strategy.
'Now in the last year or so success in the economy has enabled the small companies to start thinking about their strategy and start thinking about companies like us. Over the past three years we have grown at 40 per cent compound and our aim is to grow until we are too big for this building and have to organise another opening.'
