CENTENARIANS living in the Wycombe District are to be honoured with a special Royal message to mark the Queen Mother's 100th birthday.
Wycombe District Council chairman David Cox is urging residents who are 100-years-old or more this year to contact the council before the Queen Mother's birthday on August 4.
They will receive a framed letter from the county's royal representative Sir Nigel Mobbs, the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, on behalf of the Queen Mother.
Cllr Cox, who will personally deliver the letters, is also encouraging relatives and friends of centenarians to nominate them.
He said: 'Reaching 100 years is a remarkable achievement. This year, the Queen Mother will be 100-years-old and I wanted to recognise her and the excellent work she has carried out as well as recognising those in the district who have achieved this landmark age.'
Residents who are 100-years and over, or their relatives or friends should write to: 100 years Celebration, Wycombe District Council, Queen Victoria Road, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP11 1BB, or send a fax on (01494) 421196 or e-mail fiona_chandler@Wycombe. gove.uk by August 4.
