PARENT Sarah Krajnovic raised cash for a Wycombe school after it helped improve her son's communication problems.
The 30-year-old took part in the Wycombe Half Marathon this month and raised £250 for the communications unit at Carrington First School.
The mother-of-two completed the gruelling 13.1-mile race and presented the school with funds she had raised.
Mrs Krajnovic took part in the event to say a thank you to the school, in Chapel Road, Flackwell Heath, for helping her seven-year-old son Milan.
Milan was born with communications problems which his parents discovered when he was two. He had difficulty recalling simple words such as crisps, despite how often he was reminded of the word.
His father Zoran, 33, and mother would have to show him various items in order to find out what he wanted.
Mrs Krajnovic, a telesales worker, said: 'Before he started school, he could not get to grips with the language accept for mum and dad.
'If he needed something, he could not grasp the fact of what it was despite how many times we told him what it was.'
Mrs Krajnovic, who has an older son Marco, ten, said Milan's communication skills began to improve as soon as he started school and now only confuses a few words.
She said: 'When I finished the marathon, Milan told teachers that I finished it in three weeks, instead of three hours.'
Milan will attend Carrington Middle School in September and join mainstream children for all his lessons.
