A PICTURE of Marsh Infants School in High Wycombe in 1970, published in our sister paper, Midweek, jogged the memories of former pupils and their mothers.
Sharon McDowall, now 36 and living in America, was recognised by her mum and her sister Judy, who said: 'She looks actually the same now as she did then.
'It was my mum who recognised her and she could name a couple of other people as well.'
Sheila Sharman noticed her daughter Jean smiling back at her from the front row.
Mother-of-six Jean Carr (formerly Bayliss), 35, told her mum that although Midweek had said the photographer was standing on a ladder, in fact he was actually balancing precariously on a climbing frame when taking it.
Former pupil and furniture maker Steven Nickman, 36, of Rose Avenue, Hazlemere, was named by his wife Karen.
She said: 'It took us a while to find him because he doesn't look anything like that now.
'He was very surprised to see himself there in the paper.'
Product engineer Jonathan Rose, 37, of Kingsmead Road, Loudwater, said when he saw the picture he could not identify anyone else in the photo.
He said: 'I only vaguely remember the picture being taken.
'My mum was a dinner lady there but I don't think she is in the picture.'
Olive Williams, 35, of Hilary Road, High Wycombe, whose brother Derek is also in the picture, said: 'One of my friends saw it and she said she couldn't remember me looking like that, so she asked my mum if it was me.
'I would like to know who the girls are that I am holding hands with in the front of the picture - we must have been quite good friends.'
