A massive 345 per cent rise in reported wasp nests has kept pest control officers busy this summer.
Now Wycombe District Council has provided its exterminators with two new gas-powered vans to get them to trouble spots.
The vehicles run on, environmentally friendly LPG fuel, and were financed by an energy saving grant to the council in a bid to keep up with the increase hike in wasp-nest problems in the Wycombe area.
The council decided to provide the new vans in a bid to reduce emissions and cut-back on damage to the ozone layer.
Martin Holman, a pest control officer employed by the council, said: "The vans are better for the environment than our previous vehicles, and we have smartened up our image no end."
