OLYMPIC rowing hopeful Steve Redgrave is going for his record fifth gold medal and we should all lend our support to the man who helped to put Marlow on the world map.
Steve, who has fought against all adversity, including diabetes, to gain his accolades deserves the support of every person in Bucks and the country for his relentless determination for both this country and his own personal achievement.
Perhaps we should be considering a permanent reminder of some kind in Marlow to the man who is a true Olympian in a sport linked closely with the Thames?
Many towns in Bucks have failed to fully recognise and capitalise on their famous inhabitants such as Beaconsfield and author Enid Blyton.
Marlow should carefully consider a permanent reminder of Steve's Olympic success, perhaps along the river.
