CONCERNS over the placement of a Park and Ride scheme on a Green Belt area in Marlow have been raised by both Wycombe District and Bucks County Council.
The town's Chamber of Trade has accused both councils of arrogance and indifference following a letter it received from a District and County Council Members Working Group explaining their position.
Despite a considerable amount of support for the scheme following a public consultation the letter states: 'Neither the County or District Councils supported this possibility in their response to the consultation.'
Colin Berks, vice president of the chamber, said: 'The arrogance of the councils indifference to the problems for Marlow and refusal to take account of the considered views of all parts of the community is just unbelievable.'
A spokesman for Wycombe District Council said: 'Although having expressed concern over the siting of park and ride schemes within green field locations, the District Council has not ruled out the scheme.'
