A NEW service to help employers find part-time or temporary staff among the student community has expanded rapidly since it opened last year.
The Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College Students' Union Jobshop was set up in November 1999 for students looking for work to help fund themselves through higher education.
Lucy Farnes, Jobshop Manager, said: 'Its rapid expansion over the past ten months has surpassed all expectations.
'Students are eager to work in the local community and through the Jobshop they are now able to access a wide range of vacancies.'
There are Jobshops at both the High Wycombe and Chalfont St Giles campuses which are open from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Students also have access to vacancies via the Jobshop's regularly updated website and can register to receive weekly e-mails of the latest vacancies.
Paul Randall of national buying group Seymour Direct of Rickmansworth, which has used the Jobshop on a number of occasions said: 'The students have helped Seymour Direct's expansion and we will definitely be using the service again due to the high calibre and flexibility of candidates.'
