A PROVIDER of smartcard systems has taken a record number of new installation contracts following a slow start to the year, the AGM of the company's owners heard.
GiroVend on the Knaves Beech business park, Loudwater, High Wycombe, part of Transacsys plc, designs, manufactures and supplies cashless payment systems.
The AGM on September 8 was told that GiroVend's recently announced initiative for introducing cashless systems to the schools market was beginning to bear fruit.
The company's production facility in Wales was investing in additional capacity to meet increasing demand.
It was also reported that GiroVend's French subsidiary were well ahead of last year and had recently won a major contract with a Parisian vending operator worth more than FFR6 million in anticipating of the introduction of the euro.
Chief executive Blackett Ditchburn said: 'GiroVend feels very confident in moving forward to a successful year.'
