MOTORIST Kristian Davison has been banned from driving for a year after officers found him in an overturned car.

Davison, 23, of Brays Meadow, Hyde Heath, pleaded guilty at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Monday to driving with excess alcohol.

Carl Barker, prosecuting, said police officers called to an accident in Potkiln Lane, Beaconsfield, on August 14, found Davison in a blue Toyota car.

Mr Barker said Davison told police that he had been driving the car. When asked by officers to explain what happened he said: 'I don't really know. I just lost control.'

Davison was arrested at the roadside and taken to a police station after officers smelt alcohol on his breath.

Further tests showed he had 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg of alcohol.

Davison told the court he had stopped for a couple of pints in a pub on his way back from work before being picked up by his girlfriend.

He went to another pub later that evening and drove off after drinking some soft drinks.

Davison said he lost control of his car and could not remember anything about the accident.

Magistrates fined Davison £250 and ordered him to pay £50 costs.

Davison was given a 12-month driving ban which will be reduced by a period of three months if he attends a drink-drive rehabilitation course.
