Sex offender Walter Piggott has been jailed for 30 months after being convicted of two counts of indecent assault, a court heard.

The 54-year-old father-to-be, who denied the offences, was told that they caused incalculable harm to his victim, who was 13 at the time, and he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Piggott, formerly of Lines Road, Lane End, has since moved to Birchington, Kent. He was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Monday, having been found guilty of two charges of indecent assault at Aylesbury Crown Court, on August 11.

The court heard that on one occasion Piggott pushed the girl onto a mattress at a house where he was squatting, kissed her neck and touched her breasts and bottom.

Martin Lahisse, defending, said Piggott's remand in custody had a "traumatic" affect on him.
