AN epileptic woman has been left traumatised after being abducted and robbed of more than £400.

The incident occurred in Beaconsfield on Saturday when the woman was bundled into a green car.

She was on her way to a craft fair in the town when a couple approached her at the junction between the A355 and Ledborough Lane. They asked her where she was going and if she needed help before forcing her into the back of the car and dropping her off ten miles away in Chorleywood.

A spokesman at the National Society for Epilepsy in Chalfont St Peter, where the woman has lived for 30 years, said: 'She was a confident and capable person when it came to travelling around but now her confidence has been knocked completely.'

A man waiting at a bus stop near the station in Chorleywood helped the woman to get a taxi home.

Karen Fogioli of Phoenix Cars took the woman back to Chalfont St Peter.

She said: 'The lady was very distressed and shaken up. She told me a man had approached her and asked what was in her bag. As soon as we got back to the centre she started to cry.'

Police say couple were white and in their twenties. The woman had straight, brown, shoulder-length hair and had white paint flecks on the side of her face. She was wearing blue jeans and an orange and green blouse.

The man had thick, straight, brown, collar-length hair and was wearing working-type clothes.

Police spokesman Kate Spark said: 'We are particularly keen to hear from the man who was sitting on a bench opposite the station in Chorleywood, who helped the lady to call home.'
