ANDY Pilkington's try five minutes from the end of High Wycombe's clash with Stow on the Wold finally got Wycs' South West Two campaign off the mark.
Wycs went into last weekend's clash without a point so far in the campaign, but winger Pilkington saved their blushes with his late, late touchdown to earn them a 5-5 draw.
It was a fitting end to a match that had started with a minutes silence for Wycombe's long-serving doctor and supporter Eric Wilsher, who died last week.
Wilsher's son Adam and son-in-law Ross McKerron both played a significant role in Wycs' comeback that took them off the bottom of the table.
Stow had taken the lead early on, but impressive Wycombe defending stopped them adding more before Pilkington levelled it.
Tomorrow, Wycs take a break from the league to take on Oxford Harlequins in the Intermediate Cup.
At the other end of the table Marlow strengthened their promotion credentials with a 24-8 win over Aylesbury to register their fourth straight win of the campaign.
Aylesbury led the match going into the last quarter. But then Dan Sumpter and Ross Coull went over the try line to keep Marlow top of the table with four wins out of four.
Amersham and Chiltern finished on the sore end of a 44-18 scoreline at Chinnor.
Their defeat followed hot on the heels of their defeat at Swanage in the Tetley's Bitter Cup last week.
