THE latest form of school transport is catching on as more children across the county look forward to using it.
The Crocodile Trail, similar to a walking bus, was launched at Seer Green C of E Combined School, School Lane, Seer Green, in September 1999. Thirteen children joined in on the first day and by March, 34 were regularly travelling to school in the crocodile group.
Co-ordinator Tamara Russell said: 'Kids love walking to school. They enjoy meeting up on the crocodile and chatting with their friends.'
Since then Naphill and Walters Ash Combined School, in Kilnwood, High Wycombe, and St John's C of E School, Lacey Green, Princes Risborough, have joined the bandwagon.
The walking scheme lets parents allow children to walk to school knowing that they are accompanied by trained and responsible adult volunteers.
