DAD Malcolm Freeman died after his motorbike exploded when he lost control on a sharp bend and was hurled into trees, an inquest heard.
Malcolm Freeman, 43, an experienced motorcyclist, was leading a trip with his biking club when the accident happened on the A40 at Aston Hill on June 19, the High Wycombe inquest heard on Tuesday.
Club member Roland Meakes was riding behind Mr Freeman, of West Ridge, Bourne End, when the bike blew up, showering debris across the road.
Mr Meakes said: 'I was going about 60mph when I saw Malcolm go into the bend. He was leaning to the right acutely. I followed a lot of sparks, a brief pause, more sparks, the bike went down and there was an explosion. Debris came flying and the trees shook.'
Wife Lynne, 44, told the inquest she was always against her husband riding bikes.
PC Gary Baldwin of Bicester police said Mr Freeman had taken the corner too wide and fast and was unable to manage the bend. Assistant deputy coroner Tom Grace recorded a verdict of accidental death.
