DIGRUNTLED resident Brian Pearce says the county council is taking the mickey by failing to act on a petition to improve safety on a busy road.
Mr Pearce, of Harman Walk, Booker, collected about 380 signatures, more than a year ago, from neighbours who want to see the road system improved and a pedestrian crossing installed at Holmers Farm Way.
Mr Pearce said: 'I'm getting a bit anxious. It is almost as if the county council are taking the mickey out of it. I know things take time, but it is now a year since I handed the petition in. It almost seems that they are not listening.'
He says a lot of congestion is caused by motorists heading to the John Lewis store and, despite Buckinghamshire County Council saying they were to approach the chain to help fund a pedestrian crossing, nothing has changed.
Mr Pearce said: 'I am not a NIMBY. Some people live near a power station and I live near John Lewis, but it is not the fact that the store is there. It is the fact they are doing it on the cheap when money could solve this problem.'
Richard Burton, spokesman for the county council, said it is working with the John Lewis store.
He said: 'Safety is paramount for us and the store and, as soon as we come to an agreement on costings etc, the implementation will be very, very swift.'
