PENSIONER Roland Ivermee recognised this smiling group published in last week's Midweek.
Mr Ivermee, from Cressex, said: 'It was a reunion of the boys club in Queen Alexander Road and the girls club in Desborough Road. We had many reunions and our last was our 50th in 1991.'
The clubs, wmembers of the Youth Club Association, started around the 1940s and went on for many years.
Mr Ivermee 71, added: 'You joined when you were about 14 and went out of outings and met every week. We are still all friends now, some have obviously passed away. We often see each other when we are out and about.'
Mr Ivermee knew all the Christian names and some of the surnames of the people in the picture.
They were from left to right, back row: Ron Wright, Mary Sewell, Eric Smith, Ron, Beryl and Roland Ivermee. Front row: Barbara, Margaret Smith, Paddy, Pat, Gwen, Ron Wheeler, Joy, Beryl and Geoff Gamester.
