OLD postcards showing street scenes and people in period dress could be very valuable, say experts.
Auctioneers Warwick & Warwick are visiting the Spread Eagle Hotel in Thame on Wednesday to carry out valuations of stamps, envelopes, postcards, coins and cigarette cards.
A spokesman from Warwick and Warwick said: 'Collections of old picture postcards can have value, especially those containing busy street scenes showing trams, horse-drawn transport, shop fronts and people in period dress. Whether it has been used or not does not affect its value.'
The auctioneers will provide free valuations and can organise the sales. They say anyone with an album of postcards from the turn of the century to the early 1950s should visit the experts for a valuation at the hotel, in the Cornmarket, Thame.
