MORE than £5,000 was raised during a Wings Appeal by an RAF Association branch.
The Chesham and Amersham branch collected the record total for its welfare work during the Battle of Britain 60th anniversary.
Branch chairman Stan Seal said: 'One of the key issues of the association today is to not only maintain but to provide additional state of the art care facilities at their nursing and convalescent homes and also, sustain the number of voluntary welfare workers and their complex welfare needs.'
The Chesham and Amersham branch want to thank Chesham Cadets, Sainsburys, Waitrose, Tesco, Somerfield, Fishers of Gerrards Cross and other businesses who helped with the appeal.
