February 6, 2001 11:32: THUGS have targeted pedestrians in a bizarre series of assaults when people were struck with baseball bats from moving cars.
Five people were injured in the incidents which took place on Friday night.
The first assault occurred near the Queen's Head pub on the A404 Amersham Road, in Hazlemere, at approximately 9pm when two male pedestrians were struck by the passenger of a maroon Ford Escort.
The victims believe they were struck with a baseball bat.
A second incident occurred on the same road just past the junction with Terry Road at 10pm when the passenger of a yellow Renault Clio leaned out of the window and struck with what could have been a crook lock.
A third incident occurred in Cock Lane, High Wycombe, near the junction with Pimms Grove at 10.10pm.
A fifth pedestrian was injured while walking along Pond Approach, Holmer Green, at 9pm. He was hit by a missile from a red Ford Escort.
