THE Queen's bankers Coutts & Co have commissioned a Beaconsfield gallery to reframe and hang watercolours and etchings for its refurbished client meeting rooms in the City of London. February 13th 2001
The Warwick Gallery, in Holtspur Parade, has already hung 12 of the pictures and is in the process of hanging a further 15 at the offices and meeting rooms of the bank's branches.
A special one-off Ash frame moulding was made and stained to Coutts' specifications to match the interior and furniture of the bank.
Also included in the project was the restoration and regilding of a number of large carved frames and paintings, including portraits by Sir Joshua Reynolds.
Simon Edwards, pictured, owner of the Warwick Gallery, said: "We were delighted to be asked to do the work."
He added: "Coutts & Co have been extremely happy with the new picture frames and we enjoyed the challenge of making them."
