February 13, 2001 13:08: THE Forkway Group is celebrating its second major order for forklift and warehouse trucks since the end of last year.
The latest £500,000 order for the group, based in Raans Road, Amersham, was placed by Commodore Express, of Hilsea, Portsmouth, part of the Commodore Shipping Group.
It includes the supply of 27 counterbalance trucks, plus maintenance and breakdown cover for five years.
It follows the £500,000 order towards the end of last year when Forkway beat off the competition to clinch a five-year contract to supply Southern Co-operatives Ltd's new forklift and warehouse fleet.
Forkway has now completed delivery of 22 forklift and warehouse trucks for use in Southern Co-operative's regional distribution centre in Farnham, Hants, the central depot for 76 Co-op retail outlets in southern England.
Martyn Fletcher, managing director of the Forkway Group, said: "We're delighted that they (Commodore Express) have chosen Forkway and we look forward to building on our relationship to the benefit of both companies and the local economy."
