February 13, 2001 11:43: A PUBLISHER has scooped two national awards for its publications in the fields of science, the environment and conservation. February 13th
Natural World magazine, edited by Red Fox Media in Amersham for the Wildlife Trust, won the Wildlife Award for Best Environmental Charity Magazine and Bat News, the newsletter of the Bat Conservation Trust, won the Best Environmental Charity Newsletter Award at a ceremony in Bristol last month.
The judges for the awards, by the BBC Wildlife Magazine, included writer and broadcaster Chris Baines, BBC wildlife editor Roz Kidman Cox and BBC film maker and writer Stephen Mills.
"Our winning publications are real contrasts a large, costly magazine and a small budget newsletter," said Trevor Lawson, who set up Red Fox Media in 1997.
Red Fox Media's latest project is a 100-page digital teaching resource for schools in East Anglia for Brecks Countryside Project. The document will be available on a website, also designed by the publisher, and teachers can print off worksheets and factsheets when they are needed.
The company's other clients include the National Trust, Government agencies and national newspapers.
