February 15, 2001 10:03: A BIG annual cat neutering campaign is hitting a town near you after it was launched on Valentines Day.
High Wycombe and South Bucks Branch of Cats Protection, will be putting their money where their mouth is by providing a local free-of-charge neutering service for cats of owners on low incomes.
Patricia Shakespeare, branch co-ordinator, said: "Like many areas of the country, we have a problem with unwanted cats and kittens. Responsible preventative measures such as neutering need to be taken very seriously by cat owners.
"Our full-cost neutering voucher scheme aims to help stop the problem where it starts to reduce the number of abandoned and suffering cats in this area."
Four local vets are taking part in the scheme which runs until March 16, including practices in High Wycombe, Bourne End, Marlow Bottom and Beaconsfield.
