February 16, 2001 9:47: HEARTBROKEN youngsters have vowed never to listen to the Spice Girls' music again after Mel B's dog mauled their guinea pigs to death.
The attack happened when Scary Spice's Labrador escaped from the popstar's mansion in Little Marlow and went on the prowl through neighbours' gardens.
Anna Bartlett, seven, was horrified when she walked into her back garden with mum Sharron to find one guinea pig lying dead on the ground and the other hanging from the jaws of the dog named Lord a present from Mel B's ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar.
Anna said: "I miss them a lot and I'm still very upset. I used to like the Spice Girls but I don't like them any more."
Mel B sent a bouquet of flowers to the address in Church Lane, Little Marlow, last Saturday, a week after the event, apologising to Anna and her sister Hollie, eight. She also offered to replace Fudge and Conker the guinea pigs.
But mum Sharron Bartlett, who returned the dog to the Manor House after the incident, says the brief note, apparently sent down from London by Mel B's PR agency, was too little too late.
It arrived hours after a national tabloid phoned up the star's agent saying they were going to run the story after being tipped off by a neighbour of Mrs Bartlett.
She added: "She (Mel B) goes past our front door when she leaves the village. It would not have been much for her to pop a note through the door. Sorry goes a long way. My kids are over it now but at the time they were devastated."
Mrs Bartlett said Mel B's dog was renowned for escaping the confines of the Manor House and roaming around the village. She added: "I'm worried if it keeps getting out it may end up on the Marlow Road and get run over."

Mel B was unavailable for comment.
She said it was sniffing around her childrens' Guinea Pigs just six months ago.
