February 22, 2001 10:00: SCHOOLCHILDREN will benefit from a district council cash injection for the resurfacing of four tennis courts.
The Beaconsfield School of Lawn Tennis at The Oval in Grenfell Road, Beaconsfield,is regularly used by High March School in Ledborough Lane.
A meeting of the South Bucks District Council grants sub-committee last week resolved to contribute £2,500 towards the cost of the resurfacing work, which could cost £18,000.
Beaconsfield town councillor Ann Main (Con, South Ward) is on the town council's leisure and recreation sub-committee.
She said: " We have been asked for quite some time to do this work and now the courts will be brought up to the required standards. This will bring an overall improvement to the area and will benefit the whole town."
