AFTER reading Chris Rae's letter I felt I must write also in support of High Wycombe Hospital.
My left leg gave way on a trip to Dorset in early 1996. Thank God, I decided to return home.
On arrival at Wycombe Hospital, Accident and Emergency staff had me out of the car within minutes, X-rayed, and the duty doctor informed me later that evening that my femur had parted. It was repaired the following day. I awoke in 3B, where the nurses were all wonderful.
Three days later, Dr Aitcheson came to my bedside and gently told me and my husband that the doctor who examined me noticed a problem, and after research, multiple myleoma was diagnosed. I have been receiving inpatient and outpatient treatment ever since.
The chemotherapy department, hospital wards, Dr Aitcheson and his team, and Linda the chemo sister, are excellent and I give sincere thanks for all my treatment to date and in future.
