February 26, 2001 16:36: CENSUS time is here again and recruits are urgently needed to deliver forms around the county.

The census, which comes around every ten years, provides a snapshot of everyone in the country with reference to details like sex, age and other statistics.

Information gathered is vital for local and central government for planning purposes and helping to assess needs in certain areas.

Every household, business or communal establishment in Great Britain will be visited by more than 70,000 part-time recruits.

This year is the first time householders will be expected to post the forms back themselves, with those failing to do so being followed up.

Those chosen to deliver the forms will work part-time and expect to earn £318 for approximately 57 hours work in their own area.

Anyone interested in helping with the census, should contact the census recruit helpline on 0845 3062001 or visit the government website on www.statistics.gov.uk to download an application form.
