Once again the Memorial Hall was filled with colour at Booker & District Horticultural Society's Spring Show last Saturday. The weather may seem to us to have been a bit mixed but it certainly suited all the spring flowers and shrubs. The flower arrangers excelled themselves too. In this, the Society's 60th anniversary year, the floral art classes reflected anniversaries ranging from wood (5 years) up to sparkling diamond displays. In addition, there were craft items, photographs and delicious baked cakes, biscuits and pies on display.
It is sad that this may have been Show Secretary John Williams' swan song, as he and his wife Janet are planning to move out of the area. The Society would be happy to hear from anybody who would like to volunteer to take over this role.
