Edwin Rye,BBC Gardener of the Year in 2002, treated Booker & District Horticultural Society members and their friends to a thoroughly entertaining evening last Friday. Edwin laced gardening advice with fascinating insights into the making of a television programme. Five takes unloading a lorry that had been fully unloaded the previous evening rather eats into time you think could be better used building your competition garden! Good preparation paid off however and Edwin was able to finish his white 'Magic of Moonlight' garden in time and take home the prize. Edwin bought back his garden at the end of its year on display. He re-planted it in his Wendover garden where it can now be seen when his garden is opened in June and July under the National Gardens Scheme.
