BRAVE RAF officers will be crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat to help raise cash for children.
Squadron Leader Matt Stowers and Flight Lieutenant Mark Jacklin, based at RAF High Wycombe, hope to raise £30,000.
The money will be donated to children's charities.
Matt said: "When you see some of the disabilities affecting children, it makes you realise how lucky we are. Every day is a challenge for them and that is all the motivation you need."
The pair were novice rowers before they took on this challenge. They aim to smash the record by finishing the gruelling 2,900 nautical mile journey in less than 41 days, in a 24ft by 6ft rowing boat.
The pair talked about their trip to children at the Pace Centre, in Aylesbury, which gives programmes for children with motor disorders.
