A 40-year-old man has been given a criminal behavioural order as well as a suspended sentence for repeatedly shoplifting.
Anthony Dix, of Mendip Way, High Wycombe, was sentenced at the town’s Magistrates’ Court on November 26 to 10 weeks behind bars, suspended for 12 months.
He was also made the subject of a Criminal Behaviour Order.
This means Dix must not:
- Enter High Wycombe Town Centre
- Remain in any shop, commercial or retail premises if asked to leave by a staff member
- Enter any shop of commercial premises if already having a banning notice
- Enter Next along Crest Road
His most recent conviction is related to an incident that occurred on November 25, when Dix entered a shop in High Wycombe, but members of staff asked the 40-year-old to leave the premises.
He refused to leave and started to conceal electrical items on his person.
Dix then left the shop without paying before he was detained.
Officers were called to the scene where they arrested him.
He was then charged on the same day and appeared in court the following day and pleaded guilty to one count of shoplifting.
Investigating officer, PC Cameron Elliot, said: “Dix has now been given a Criminal Behaviour Order with conditions he must follow.
“We remain committed to supporting retailers who are impacted by shoplifting by bringing offenders such as Dix before the courts to face justice.”
