A comedian and TV presenter helped open a new playground in Buckinghamshire.
The Franklin Field Playground in Chartridge was officially unveiled by Alex Horne, who is the creator of BAFTA award-winning TV series Taskmaster, on Sunday, November 24.
Despite the poor weather, many residents attended the ceremony, with children eager to try the new equipment.
The playground project was driven by a dedicated group who raised the necessary funds.
They expressed gratitude to the Parish Council, the Village Hall Committee, Bucks CC Community Fund, The Entertainer, and community members for their financial and moral support.
This initiative has been a community effort, providing a new recreational space for local children.
Horne, who also leads comedy band The Horne Section, has lived in Chesham for more than two decades, and while he hasn’t been shy about shouting-out his hometown (he is director of Chesham United FC, after all), you may not be aware of the important role the Bucks market town plays in keeping his BAFTA-winning TV show ticking along after 18 seasons.
