A man caught persistently begging in High Wycombe has been banned from the town centre.
Buckinghamshire Council says it has obtained an injunction against Lee Davis due to him persistently harassing members of the public.
Davis has been seen begging for money and goods over a long period, the authority said.
It added that he has failed to take advantage of multiple offers of support and warnings by the council and police.
But now, 'as a last resort' the council has successfully applied for the injunction which excludes him from the town centre and prohibits him from begging.
The order, served on Davis today, will last for two years.
He can only go into the town centre if he has a professional appointment.
The council is asking members of the public to report any breaches of the injunction to Thames Valley Police on 101 or the council by emailing wycombewardens@buckinghamshire.gov.uk
Councillor Peter Brazier, Deputy Cabinet Member for Community Safety said: "We want to assure the community that we take this issue very seriously.
"Our commitment to addressing anti-social behaviour remains steadfast, and we will continue to take necessary actions to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents."
