Environment Agency staff are monitoring the situation and clearing trash screens along the waterways.
In a statement online, a spokesperson from the agency said: "River levels are rising steadily in response to rainfall from Storm Bert. Flooding is possible over the next few hours and into this evening (Sunday, November 24).
"Further rainfall is expected over the next 12 hours which will keep river levels high. Take care on riverside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger."
Storm Bert has so far brought 80 percent of a typical November's rainfall in just two days, according to the Met Office.
