A Buckinghamshire Carpetright store has closed after the company was acquired by one of its competitors.

Carpetright at Knavesbeech Industrial Estate, Loudwater has shut up shop and is currently undergoing a refurbishment.

All of the windows at the Knavesbeech Way store have been covered over with paper with signs announcing the opening of a new Tapi Carpets store.

It comes after Tapi Carpets & Floors acquired parts of the Carpetright business out of administration earlier this year with administrators approving the sale of 54 stores and two logistics hubs.

In a statement on the Carpetright website, it says: "This store has been acquired by Tapi and is currently undergoing a refurbishment.

"We look forward to welcoming you to your new Tapi High Wycombe on 21/12/2024.

"We have lots of other stores around the UK ready to help you find your new flooring."

The store closed on November 10 and it is estimated that the works will take around five and a half weeks to complete.

A spokesperson for Tapi Carpets said: "The store is undergoing a complete refurbishment which will convert the former Carpetright store to a Tapi Carpets & Floors showroom.

"Our stores are a pleasure to visit, light and airy and bursting with design inspiration for your new carpet or floor."

Carpetright previously announced the closure of its stores in Aylesbury, Gerrards Cross, High Wycombe (Bellfield Road) and Milton Keynes.

Neighbouring outlets in Bracknell, Slough, Reading and Wokingham (Berkshire), Stevenage, Watford and Welwyn Garden City (Hertfordshire) and two in Oxford (Oxfordshire) were also listed for closure.
