A mystery Buckinghamshire man has won £10,000 a month for a year in the National Lottery.

The man, known only as Mr L, matched the five main numbers in the Set For Life draw on Monday, October 21.

He plans to use some of the money to go on holiday.

He played a personal selection of numbers via the National Lottery app.

Mr L is one of more than nine million players who win each week on the National Lottery’s range of games.

Interactive winners can release their name, stay anonymous or, like Mr L, release some details through partial publicity.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: "Wow, what exciting news for Mr L who can now look forward to receiving £10k every month for a year and celebrating on holiday. Huge congratulations."

Players can buy tickets in retail outlets, play online on the National Lottery website, or by downloading The National Lottery app.

Playing online means the ticket is automatically checked, and winners receive an email notification.

Since its launch, The National Lottery has made over 7,400 millionaires and raised more than £49 billion for good causes, supporting heritage, arts, sports, and grassroots projects.

The Set For Life game, costing £1.50 per line, is drawn every Monday and Thursday.
