Following Primark’s relocation in High Wycombe, a new shop has opened in the space it previously occupied in the town.
The Irish superstore, which first arrived in South Buckinghamshire in October 2008, had previously been based inside the Chilterns Shopping Centre along Castle Street and Church Street.
However, after House of Fraser went into administration and left the Eden Centre Shopping Centre at the start of the decade, the decision was made to move the megastore into the vacant outlet.
This move was confirmed earlier this year, with the official opening of the new store taking place on September 11.
It was attended by many shoppers in the town, with over 1,000 entering the store within the first three hours.
Following the relocation, Primark’s old unit sat doormat with many speculating what would be next for the two-storey shopping space.
This question was answered on Sunday, November 17, when a new shop called ‘House 2 Home’ opened that morning.
The store, which is only using the first floor at this present moment, sells homeware items such as pillows, rugs, kitchen appliances, clocks and more.
There is also a suitcase section, with the shop also offering a wide range of bric-a-brac items.
Prior to their grand unveiling on November 17, those in High Wycombe saw several people ‘work tirelessly’ in putting the shop together.
This included erecting their exterior sign, as well as, placing all of the items out on the shop floor.
One worker told the Free Press that the shop ‘is here for good’ and not a pop-up store for the run-in to Christmas.
To celebrate the opening, customers are being treated to 50 per cent of every item in store for the first week.
