A primary school near Aylesbury has been forced to close due to water main repairs.

Wingrave Church of England School, which is based along Aylesbury Road in the village, confirmed that they would not be open today [November 15], due to the issue.

One day earlier, Buckinghamshire Council announced on X [formerly known as Twitter] that a water ‘burst in a field on the Aylesbury Road in Wingrave’ and that Anglian Water were ‘on-site working to fix it’.

They added: “Residents in Wingrave, Aston Abbotts, Cublington and other nearby areas may experience low pressure for the next few hours.”

No time frame was given on when the damage would be repaired, which led to Wingrave Primary confirming that they would be closed on November 15.

However, Bucks Council confirmed on the same day that Anglian Water had now ‘completed this repair’, but it would take ‘several hours for the water pressure to return to normal in all residences’.
