58 affordable and energy-efficient homes have been built in a village.

Peabody has completed the development of the homes in Stoke Hammond, Buckinghamshire.

The Honeybrooke development, on Fenny Road, consists of 43 houses and 15 apartments.

34 of the houses have three or four bedrooms, aiming to meet the demand for larger family homes.

All homes are affordable, with 34 for affordable rent and 24 available for shared ownership.

The homes are equipped with energy-efficient technology, including air source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems, and solar panels.

These features, based on many principles of Passivhaus design, will assist in reducing energy costs for residents.

Simon Barry, regional managing director at Peabody, said: "These homes provide local people with an opportunity to either rent affordably or step onto the property ladder in an area that has traditionally been out of reach for many.

"What’s more, the environmental credentials of the homes will ensure they’re more economical to run and more comfortable for residents."

A special event was recently held by Peabody, The Hill Group, and Stoke Hammond Parish Council to mark the completion of the project.

Rob Jack, regional director at The Hill Group, said: "This development not only addresses local housing needs but also empowers residents to enjoy the long-term financial advantages of energy-efficient living."
