Buckinghamshire renters are spending more of their money on accommodation than almost every other county in the region, new data has shown.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that Buckinghamshire residents are spending 31.6 per cent of their gross monthly income on rent.
The only count in the East with a higher percentage was Hertfordshire where renters utilise 32.1 per cent of their monthly income.
They were the only two counties where private rents were over 30 per cent and therefore not thought to be "affordable" in the 2022-23 financial year.

Despite this though, private rents in relation to income fell to their lowest level in the past nine financial years across the region, hitting 27.3 per cent.
The least affordable area in the region was Hertsmere in Hertfordshire where the average private tenant spent 36.6 per cent of their income.
Fenland in Cambridgeshire and East Suffolk were the region's most affordable with 19.6 per cent.
