Cineworld has responded to claims they could potentially close more outlets across the UK, which could include its branch in High Wycombe.
The company entered administration in July 2023 after struggling with a debt of around £4 billion and had restructuring plans approved in September, allowing it to renegotiate the leases at some of its sites.
This resulted in five shutdowns in July of this year.
At the start of this month, Sky News reported that Cineworld was in "last-ditch" negotiations with landlords at 18 of its 101 sites, with their futures hanging in the balance until agreements either fail or are secured.
However, it has now been confirmed that the chain will NOT close in High Wycombe.
A spokesperson told the Free Press: “We want to reassure our customers and staff that we have no plans to close any additional cinemas beyond the five already closed.
“High Wycombe Cineworld remains open as usual.”
The cinema is based in the Eden Shopping Centre and boasts an average score of 4.2/5 from 1,462 Google Reviews.
