Buckinghamshire has a long and deep history when it comes to the movie industry.
With Pinewood Studios being on patch, many blockbusters that have taken the world by storm have got a little piece of Bucks in them.
In addition to that, numerous flicks have been filmed on location, and here is one that you may have missed.
The 2014 movie, ‘The Imitation Game’, which starred Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly, was partly shot along Church Street in Chesham.
The scenes in South Buckinghamshire were to emulate what parts of Bletchley Park looked like during the 1940s.
The movie focuses on the life of computer scientist Alan Turing, who played a huge role in defeating the Germans and their allies in World War II.
He did this by codebreaking.
However, despite being named a hero by the public, he was convicted of ‘gross indecency’ several years after the war ended in 1945.
This was due to Turing by gay, with homosexual acts being illegal in the UK at the time.
He committed suicide at the age of 41 in 1952.
The movie was a huge hit when it was released in 2014, being nominated for numerous awards.
This includes eight Oscars, where it won one.
