An explanation has been given as to why two police cars were spotted outside a primary school in High Wycombe.

At around 3pm on Wednesday, November 5, a patrol vehicle was situated along Priory Avenue in the town, directly next to Hamilton Academy.

Moments later, it moved to Priory Road where they were joined by a second car.

Officers were then seen in the area with one shouting at a member of the public, ‘to get on the ground’.

The incident occurred just before parents and guardians picked up their children from school.

Those who did not see the incident could hear the officers shouting, demanding those they were chasing to remain still.

A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police told the Free Press: “We arrested two men, aged 20 and 18, and both from London, on suspicion of drugs offences.

“They are currently in police custody at this time to be interviewed by detectives and to allow for further enquiries to take place.”

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call the police and use the reference number 43240535621.
