The owner of an Indian restaurant along the Buckinghamshire/Berkshire border has thanked his customers after they won a national award.

The Four Feathers, which is based in Richings Park, Iver, recently picked up the ‘Curry Restaurant of the Year’ prize at this year’s Curry Awards.

They won the accolade at the end of October, and Afrus Ali, who runs the establishment, said that achievement was partly down to the ‘loyal customers’ who frequently visit the restaurant.

He told the Free Press: “I was so shocked when we won the award, as it was something we were not expecting, but I feel so proud.

“My customers in Buckinghamshire have been so loyal and a part of this award is down to them.

“They have returned as we take our customer service really important, and we just want to thank them for supporting us.”

Before being known as Four Feathers, the restaurant was called Curry Paradise.

It was regularly visited by locals a like and according to TripAdvisor, it has been ranked as the fourth best establishment to try out in Iver.

Mr Ali, who worked at Curry Paradise between 1991 and 1997 as a chef, would then purchase the restaurant in the summer of 2022 – 25 years after leaving.

His management has turned it into an award-winning eatery which boasts an average score of 4.4/5 from 159 Google Reviews.

A statement on their official Facebook page reads: “We're thrilled to announce that Four Feathers has won the Curry Restaurant of the Year in Buckinghamshire Award 2024 at the Prestige Curry Awards.

“This recognition is a testament to our dedication to serving authentic flavours and creating memorable dining experiences.

Thank you to our amazing team and loyal customers for making this possible.

A spokesperson from the Curry Awards added: “Four Feathers has consistently set the standard for culinary excellence.

“This award not only recognizes the hard work and commitment of the chefs and staff but also highlights the love for authentic cuisine that brings our community together.

“Here’s to many more years of innovation, flavour, and success.

“If you haven’t yet experienced their culinary delights, now is the perfect time to visit and see what all the buzz is about.”
