A cinema in High Wycombe could close before Christmas if negotiations with landlords fail.
Cineworld shut six of its UK sites in July after they were deemed "commercially unviable" following a difficult few years for the chain as it struggled to maintain audience levels after the COVID-19 pandemic.
And although the Wycombe branch in the Eden Shopping Centre was not impacted by the summer closures, it could still be axed from the company's UK portfolio before the year is out.
Sky News reported this week that Cineworld was in "last-ditch" negotiations with landlords at 18 of its 101 sites, with their futures hanging in the balance until agreements either fail or are secured.
While none of the landlords have yet served notice, the chain is reportedly "awaiting further communications about their intentions" and is hoping it can still convince them to keep the 18 cinemas open.

The company entered administration in July 2023 after struggling with a debt of around £4 billion and had restructuring plans approved in September, allowing it to renegotiate the leases at some of its sites.
Following the ruling, a spokesperson said: “We are pleased that the court has approved our restructuring plan.
“This will enable us to re-set the business for the long-term and ensure a sustainable future for Cineworld in the UK.”
