Villagers have described the weekend-long closure of a major road by Thames Water as 'unacceptable and inconvenient'.
The disgraced water company will close the A404 Amersham Road from its Grove Road junction in Hazlemere at 7pm today, November 1.
The closure - which will also apply to buses and emergency service vehicles - is to allow two-day-long repairs to a water main after it burst this week.
It will remain in force until 4pm on Sunday, November 3.

There will be no access to the stretch except for residents for the whole of the designated period, with a diversion route indicated on signage.
Hazlemere residents have hit out at Thames Water's last-minute announcement of the plans, with one person describing the area's seemingly endless roadworks as "totally unacceptable" and an "inconvenience".
Catherine Oliver, chair of the village's parish council, also described the works as "bad news" and urged drivers to make alternative weekend travel plans.
