A dispersal order has been put in place after a spate of anti-social behaviour on Halloween in the Castlefield area of High Wycombe.
A 48-hour hour dispersal order was activated this morning around Rutland Avenue after 'disorder' on Thursday.
Thames Valley Police have since confirmed that one person has been arrested.
The extra powers cover the 'most impacted area' and allow officers to direct specific individuals away from hotspots.
A police spokesperson said: "Individuals who are directed away from the area are not permitted to return until the dispersal authority expires.
“If found to be returning before then, this will be a criminal offence and will be dealt with robustly. This legislation has been obtained to assist officers in protecting the public from further disorder in the days following.
“There will be a heightened police presence in the area today, with increased patrols being carried out to support the local community.”
The dispersal order is due to expire at 12.45am on Sunday, November 3.
It comes as emergency services have arrested a man in his 20s in relation to a series of assaults across the town including one in nearby Desborough Road.
Neighbours have since said they feel 'unsettled and fearful for their safety'.
Police do not believe the two incidents are linked.
