A High Wycombe councillor has expressed his concerns after a serious police incident occurred in the town.

At around 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 30, the emergency services were called to Desborough Road after uncovered reporters suggested that a person had ‘attacked three people’ with a weapon.

One said that ‘a knife or a sword’ was seen, but this has yet to be verified by the authorities.

Police and ambulances were called to the scene after reports were made, with patrol cars going along Desborough Road and Green Street.

Thames Valley Police have been contacted for a comment.

Labour Councillor Majid Hussain, who represents the Booker, Cressex and Castlefield has told the Free Press that the incident has left ‘community members feeling deeply unsettled and fearful for their safety.’

He said: “Since last night [October 30], I have received multiple calls from local business owners and residents who are anxious about what occurred.

“They have shared their concerns about the impact such incidents have on the safety and well-being of our community, with many expressing fears about carrying out their daily activities and the safety of their loved ones.

“In response to these concerns, I have reached out to the police, requesting updates on any additional safety measures or community support initiatives they may be planning to implement.

“We hope that any forthcoming support or preventive measures will reassure the public and help restore confidence in our community’s safety.

“As a community, we believe it is essential to bring attention to this issue, and we appreciate any coverage that helps amplify our concerns and encourages a timely response.”
