Drivers are facing delays along a major road in High Wycombe after a roadworks project began this morning.
Broadband company Nexfibre was given the green light by Buckinghamshire Council to introduce traffic control measures on the A40 London Road through Loudwater this week.
The multi-way lights system was enforced at 8:45am today, October 31, with Buckinghamshire Highways warning motorists that delays were expected throughout the traffic control period.
The work, which caused heavy congestion along the stretch and back into High Wycombe, will continue until midnight on Friday, November 1.
Nexfibre is reportedly carrying out utility asset works in Loudwater, with an alternative walkway also provided to mitigate a lack of pavement access.
While rush hour travellers on the roads after 8:45am were held up by the works, Google Maps was still showing severe delays through the village between 10am and 11am.
